About us
In 2020 The Vancouver Netball Association (VANA) adopted a new Constitution and Bylaws to come in line with the new Societies Act and changed its name to Netball Metro Vancouver. VANA has been running A, B, C and Youth Netball leagues and competitions in metro Vancouver since 1979. Clubs, teams and players come from Burnaby, Vancouver, Coquitlam/Port Moody/Port Coquitlam, New Westminster , Surrey, Richmond, West and North Vancouver. League games are played Saturday mornings on full size lined Netball courts at Burnaby Mountain Secondary School 8800 Eastlake Drive. Alternate venues are Byrne Creek Secondary and Burnaby South Secondary. Games are full regulation, 1 hour playing time. Umpires are all fully certified by BC Netball. All member teams must be registered with BC Netball and are therefore affiliated with Netball Canada and the International Netball Federation.

At Netball Metro Vancouver, we do not only focus on organizing and hosting league matches. We create a community filled with people who enjoy the sport, people who are filled with passion, and people who would love a second family. Here, we treasure our players and welcome people with open arms.

Our History
Netball Metro Vancouver ,formerly known as the Vancouver Amateur Netball Association.
In 2020 the Association was reincorporated with a new name and adopted a new Constitution and Bylaws to bring it up to date with the BC Societies Act which came into effect in 2016.
The new name was adopted to better reflect the membership of the Association which comes from all the municipalities in Metro Vancouver.
The Vancouver Amateur Netball Association (VANA) was first incorporated in 1979 and has been running Netball League competition continuously since that time.
As Netball grew the British Columbia Netball Association was also formed and became the official Provincial Sport Organisation for Netball.
VANA continued to run the Saturday leagues in the Lower Mainland at various venues .The league currently has A Division, U30 B Division and Youth Leagues. Teams and athletes participate from all the Lower Mainland Municipalities.
In September 2000 the league found a home at Burnaby Mountain Secondary which has 2 beautiful full size sprung wooden floors with Netball lines Netball courts.
Games and practices are also held at Byrne Creek Secondary and Burnaby South Secondary which also have 2 full size Netball courts.
VANA has traditionally provided the competition arm for the BC Netball Athlete Pathway in the Lower Mainland. The Association is very proud to be able to provide competition from beginner to premier level. It has produced more National and Provincial Athletes than any other League in Canada.
All member teams are affiliated with the British Columbia Netball Association .
The standard of umpiring is good, all games are umpired by Netball Canada/INF certified umpires. In addition Coaches for the BC Zone Championships , BC Games, The U16 ,U18, U23 Provincial Teams, the National U21 coaches have started their Netball careers as players in the VANA League.
